Supreme State Security Prosecution
The Supreme State Security Prosecution has decided to detain a defendant for 15 days pending investigations. He is:
- Ahmed Mostafa Ahmed Serag, pending investigations in Case No. 7 of 2025 (Supreme State Security).
Serag faces several charges, including joining a terrorist group, committing a terrorist financing offense, spreading false news and statements, and using an online platform to promote a terrorist act.
Serag was arrested after conducting an interview with Nada Magheeth, the wife of artist Ashraf Omar, on the “That Masr” website channel. During the interview, Magheeth alleged that police forces who arrested her husband seized money from their home during the raid.

Administrative Court
The Administrative Court in Qalyubia decided to postpone the hearing of the appeal in the case filed by AFTE before the State Council in Banha, on behalf of Nada Osama Abdel Moghny, against the Faculty of Arts at Banha University. The appeal challenges the negative decision to refuse her appointment as a teaching assistant in the faculty, despite her being the top student in her department in terms of academic grades. The hearing was reserved for April 28th for ruling, allowing the plaintiff to obtain an official copy of Appeal No. 6934 of Judicial Year 3 to prove her right to the teaching assistant position.

Criminal Court
The Cairo Criminal Court renewed the detention of 4 defendants for 45 days. They are:
1- Ali Mohmed Ali Abo ElMajd, a student in the fourth year of the Faculty of Sharia and Law at Al-Azhar University, in Case No. 2468 of 2023 (Supreme State Security).
Security forces arrested Abo ElMajd on October 21 of the last year, from his home in the Bulaq Al Dakrur area, due to his participation in the demonstrations in support of Palestine. He remained detained in an unknown place to his family and lawyer until his presentation to the Supreme State Security Prosecution on the 28th of the same month, which proceeded with investigations with him and decided to detain him in pretrial detention for 15 days, pending investigations.
The prosecution charged Abo ElMajd with joining a terrorist group with knowledge of its purposes and participating in a gathering intended to harm public safety and order, changing the government system through force, and forcing a public employee to refrain from performing one of his duties through intimidation and violence. To accomplish a terrorist purpose, the defendant destroyed public and private property, both immovable and movable.
2- Ahmed Husine Ahmed Abostit, pending lawsuit No. 2468 of 2023 (Supreme State Security). Security forces had arrested him on October 24, 2023, in Abdel Moneim Riad Square due to his participation in the demonstrations in support of Palestine on October 20.
It is worthy to note that the prosecution accused him of joining a terrorist group with knowledge of its purposes and participating in a gathering intended to harm public safety and order, changing the government system through force, and forcing a public employee to refrain from performing one of his duties through intimidation and violence. To accomplish a terrorist purpose, the defendant destroyed public and private property, both immovable and movable.
3- Amir Sayed Mohamed and Reyad Mohamed Abdel Rahaman for 45 days, pending investigations of lawsuit No. 744 of 2023 (Supreme State Security).
Although Amir and Reyad are Zamalek football club fans, the prosecution accused them of joining a terrorist group, Ultras Ahlawy, and spreading false news and information that would harm public security and order.
Security forces arrested Amir and Reyad on May 3 from the DownTown district in Cairo, and security forces detained them without legal basis and in an unknown location for eight days before presenting them before the prosecution.
Administrative Court
The Administrative Court in Abbasiya has ruled to overturn the decision to bypass the plaintiff’s appointment as an assistant lecturer at the Faculty of Dentistry, Cairo University. The initial rejection was based on security grounds.
This ruling comes in response to Appeal No. 5117 of Judicial Year 71, filed by AFTE’s legal representative against Cairo University and the Faculty of Dentistry.
The court had previously postponed its decision on November 19, 2024, awaiting the report from the State Commissioners Authority. The court ruled to annul the contested decision.
