Khalifa is the admin of Al-Adham’s page on TikTok. On 28 May 2020, he was arrested from his home in Zefta, Gharbia Governorate, in connection with Case No. 1087 of 2020, registered under No. 1047 of 2020 at the financial misdemeanor court.

The prosecution charged Khalifa with managing Al-Adham’s social media accounts and obtaining programs that were designed without permission from the Communications Regulatory Authority and without legal justification, with the aim of using them to help Al-Adham commit her crime. He also faced charges of assisting Al-Adham in publishing videos offensive to public decency, and helping her to escape trial although he knew of the arrest warrant issued against her. He was also charged with using Al-Adham’s social media accounts to post material that would influence the public opinion in favor of a party to the case. The prosecution decided to remand him in custody pending investigation.

On 11 June 2020, the Public Prosecution referred Khalifa, along with four others, to trial in connection with Case No. 1047 of 2020. On 27 July 2020, the Cairo Economic Court convicted Khalifa, along with four others, sentenced him to two years in prison and ordered him to pay a fine of 300,000 Egyptian pounds. However, the court on 12 January 2021 upheld the fine and annulled the prison sentence, attributing the reasons of its ruling to the young age of the defendant.
