Student Regulations before the Supreme Constitutional Court

The Association for Freedom of Thought and Expression (AFTE) filed a lawsuit on Wednesday before the Supreme Constitutional Court to challenge the unconstitutionality of Presidential Decree No. 340 of 2007 on amending some provisions of the Regulations of the Law on Universities, “Section VIII, known as the Student Regulations”.

The case credited under No. 83 for the year 31 constitutional court verdict is related to the violation of the above-mentioned Presidential decree of constitutional protection guaranteed to all freedoms of opinion and expression, the right to equality and non-discrimination, equal opportunities for all, and the right to form trade unions and federations on a democratic basis.The lawsuit demands declaring the unconstitutionality of presidential decree No. 340 of 2007 amending some provisions of the Regulations of the Law on Universities for violating the provisions of Articles 47, 56, 62, 86, 144, 146; it also demands the unconstitutionality of Article 319 of Presidential Decree No. 340 (2007 )for violating the provisions of Articles 8 and 40 of the Constitution.
