The Third Circuit (Criminal/Terrorism), decided at its session held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, to renew the detention of “Esraa Abdel Fattah” for 45 days pending investigations into case No. 488 of 2019, with charges of joining a terrorist group, misusing social media, and spreading false news.

It should be noted that eyewitnesses have reported the “Esraa” was kidnaped on October 19, 2019, and she reported before the prosecution that security service forces have kidnaped her and that she was beaten and mistreated.

The Third Circuit (Criminal/Terrorism), decided on its meeting held on Monday, April the 5th, at the police secretary academy, to renew the detention of “Esraa Abdel Fattah” for 45 days pending investigations into case No. 488 of 2019, with charges of joining a terrorist group, misusing social media, and spreading false news.

It should be noted that eyewitnesses have reported the “Esraa” was kidnaped on 12 October 2019, and she reported before the prosecution that security service forces have kidnaped her and that she was beaten and mistreated.

Cairo Criminal court decided, in the August 23rd session, to renew the detention of Esraa Abdel Fattah for 45 days pending investigations into case no. 488/2019.

1 June 2020

Cairo Criminal court (Terrorism Circuit) postponed today, June 1st, the renewal of detention session of defendant in case no. 488/2019,  Esraa Abdel Fattah because she was unable to attend the session coming from El Qanatir prison, where she is detained.

Esraa Abdel Fattah, journalist and human rights defender, was arrested on October 12th, 2019. She was accused of spreading false news, joining a banned group and misuse of social media.
