Prosecution Renews Lawyer’s Detention for 15 Days Over Facebook Posts

The Supreme State Security Prosecution renewed the detention of lawyer Mohamed Ibrahim Solieman for 15 days pending investigations in lawsuit No. 764 of 2026 (Supreme State Security), in which Solieman is charged over Facebook posts discussing political and economic conditions.

Solieman was arrested on February 10 and appeared before the Supreme State Security Prosecution the following day for interrogation. He faces charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and using a social media account for the purpose of committing such offenses.

On May 3, the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to renew the detention of the 49-year-old lawyer, Mohamed Ibrahim Solieman, for 15 days pending investigations in lawsuit No. 764 of 2026 (Supreme State Security).
Security forces arrested Soliman on February 10, 2026, over Facebook posts discussing political and economic conditions. He appeared before the prosecution the following day for interrogation. He faces charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and using a social media account for the purpose of committing such offenses.

He faces charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and using a social media account for the purpose of committing such offenses.
