The Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to release Yahya Ibrahim Abdel Rahim Shehata, an Arabic language teacher at the Montazah Educational Administration in Alexandria, on the guarantee of his place of residence, pending investigations in Case No. 2207 of 2021 (Supreme State Security).

Shehata was arrested in September 2021 and subjected to enforced disappearance for nearly two weeks before being presented to the prosecution. He was charged with joining a terrorist group and publishing false news, and was initially detained for 15 days. His continued detention was subsequently reviewed and renewed by the Criminal Court.
