Al-Darb Al-Ahmar Misdemeanor Court renews the detention of mosque servant Khaled Helmy for 15 days

Al-Darb Al-Ahmar Misdemeanor Court renewed the detention of Khaled Jalal Helmy for 15 days pending investigations in Case No. 1113 of 2024, Al Darb Al-Ahmar misdemeanor, on charges of joining a terrorist group and possessing ammunition.

The decision came after Rawd Al-Farag Misdemeanor of Appeals Court had decided on 8 April to cancel a decision to release Khaled, which was issued by Rawd Al-Farag Misdemeanor Court. 

On February 27, the North Cairo Criminal Court released Helmy and decided to replace detention with a precautionary measure. However, Rowd Al-Farag Police Station did not implement the decision, and Khaled was detained in the department until he was presented with a new case. 

Helmy is a mosque’s custodian from the Sahel Rowd al-Farag, and he is 50 years old.

 

8 April 2024: Al-Darb Al-Ahmar Misdemeanor Court of Appeals canceled the release of mosque servant Khaled Helmy and renewed his detention for 15 days

Al-Darb Al-Ahmar Misdemeanor Court of Appeals decided to cancel the release of Khaled Jalal Helmy and renew the detention of him for 15 days pending investigations in Case No. 1113 of 2024, Al Darb Al-Ahmar misdemeanor, on charges of joining a terrorist group and possessing ammunition.

The decision came after Rawd Al-Farag Misdemeanor Court had decided in the April 7 session to release Khaled, before Al Darb Al-Ahmar Prosecution appealed the release decision, and the appeal was heard in the April 8 session.

27 March 2024: Mokattam Misdemeanor Court renews the detention of mosque servant Khaled Helmy for 15 days pending a new case

Al Mokattam Misdemeanor Court decided to renew the detention of Khaled Jalal Helmy for 15 days pending investigations in Case No. 1113 of 2024, Al Darb Al-Ahmar misdemeanor, on charges of joining a terrorist group and possessing ammunition.

March 25, 2024: Al-Darb Al-Ahmar Prosecution detained the mosque’s custodian, Khaled Helmy, pending a new case

Al Darb Al-Ahmar Prosecution decided to detain Khaled Jalal Helmy for 4 days pending investigations in Case No. 1113 of 2024, Al Darb Al-Ahmar misdemeanor, on charges of joining a terrorist group and possessing ammunition.

 

On February 27, the North Cairo Criminal Court released Helmy, and decided to replace detention with a precautionary measure, but Rowd Al-Farag Police Station did not implement the decision, and Khaled was detained in the department until he was presented with a new case.

27 February 2024: The criminal court decided to release Khaled Helmy and replaces pretrial detention with precautionary measure

The Criminal Court (twentieth Circuit) decided to release Khaled Galal Helmy,   pending investigations into lawsuit No. 1984 of 2021 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).

The court replaces pre-trial detention with precautionary measures as he is obligated to spend 2 hours per week at a police station. 

On February 8, 2023, security forces arrested Helmy and added him to case no. 935 of 2023 (Rod Al-Farag misdemeanor). 

Helmy faces charges of promoting verbally and in writing to disrupt the provisions of the constitution and the law, preventing a state institution from performing its work, attacking the freedoms of citizens, harming national unity and social peace, and joining a terrorist group.

14 January, 2024: Criminal court renews Khaled Helmy’s detention for 45 days

The Criminal Court (Fifteen Circuit) renewed the detention of Khaled Galal Helmy for 45 days pending investigations into lawsuit No. 1984 of 2021 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).

On February 8, 2023, security forces arrested Helmy and added him to case no. 935 of 2023 (Rod Al-Farag misdemeanor). It is worth mentioning that earlier this year, the Criminal Court adjourned the defendant’s hearing session to October 10.

December 5, 2023

The Criminal Court (Fifth Circuit) renewed the detention of Khaled Galal Helmy for 45 days pending investigations into lawsuit No. 1984 of 2021 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).

On February 8, 2023, security forces arrested Helmy and added him to case no. 935 of 2023 (Rod Al-Farag misdemeanor). It is worth mentioning that earlier this year, the Criminal Court adjourned the defendant’s hearing session to October 10.

3 October 2023 : Khaled Galal Helmy’s detention hearing adjourned to October 10

The Criminal Court (Second Circuit) adjourned to October 10, the detention hearing of Khaled Galal Helmy as it wasn’t possible to transfer him from prison to the court.

The security forces arrested Helmy on February 8 pending lawsuit No. 935 of 2023 (Rod Elfarag misdemeanor).


Criminal Court renews Khaled Galal’s detention for 45 days

10 July 2023

Today, the Criminal Court (the Council Chamber) decided to renew the detention of Khaled Galal Helmy for 45 days, pending investigations of lawsuit No. 935 of 2023 (Road Elfarag misdemeanor).

It’s noteworthy that Helmy was arrested on February 8, 2023.
