Kholoud Saied Amer’s release procedures under the guarantee of her residence finalized

Today, Tora prison administration finalized Kholoud Saied Amer’s release procedures under the guarantee of her residence in connection with Case No. 1017 of 2020 (Supreme State Security). As per the Supreme State Security Prosecution’s decision issued on May 29 to release her.

Amer faced charges of charges of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news. After her arrest on April 21, 2020, from her home in Alexandria.

29 May 2022 “Kholoud Saied Amer released under the guarantee of her residence”

Yesterday, the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to release Kholoud Saied Amer released under the guarantee of her residence, in connection with Case No. 1017 of 2020 (Supreme State Security).

Security forces arrested Amer from her house in Alexandria in April 2020, in connection with the first Case No. 558 of 2020, and after her release order was issued she was involved in the current case with charges of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.

8 March 2022 “Criminal Court renews Kholoud Saied Amer’s detention for 45 days”

On Tuesday, March 8, The Criminal Court (The Council Chamber) decided to renew the detention of Kholoud Saied Amer for 45 days in connection with Case No. 1017 of 2020 (Supreme State Security).

Security forces arrested Amer from her house in Alexandria on the evening of April 21, 2020, after being subjected to enforced disappearance for a week; she appeared before the State Security Prosecution in connection with case 558 of 2020. and after eight months of pretrial detention, a decision was issued to release her, however, the release decision was not implemented, but rather ess than a month later she was rotated in the current case lwith the same charges of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.

12 December 2021 

On Sunday, December 12, The Criminal Court (The Council Chamber) decided to renew the detention of Kholoud Saied Amer for 45 days in connection with Case No. 1017 of 2020 (Supreme State Security).

Security forces arrested Amer, The Head of Language Audit Department at The Bibliotheca Alexandrina, on April 21, 2020, from her home in Alexandria to appear before the Supreme State Security Prosecution after a week of enforced disappearance; the prosecution decided to include her in case No. 558 of 2020. Less than a month after her release which had not been implemented,  the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to detain her again, in connection with the current case with the exact previous charges of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.

2 November 2021 

Tuesday, November 2, The Criminal Court (The Council Chamber) decided to renew the detention of Kholoud Saied Amer for 45 days pending Case No. 1017 of 2020 (Supreme State Security Prosecution).

On April 21, 2020, Security forces stormed Amer’s house. She was subjected to enforced disappearance for several days, later she appeared before the prosecution pending Case No. 558 of 2020, and after eight months of pretrial detention, she was released, in less than a month later, she was rotated pending the current case on charges of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.

4 October 2021 

Monday, October 4, The Criminal Court (The Council Chamber) released “Ayman Mahmoud Abdel-Halim” with the guarantee of his place of residence and renewed the detention of “Kholoud Saied Amer” for 45 days.

This came in connection with case No. 1017 of 2020 Supreme State Security Prosecution.

Notably, both defendants were rotated in this case after they were released in connection with previous cases, as “Abdel-Halim” was detained pending Case No. 12587 of 2018 Second Montaza administrative. On December 12, 2020, the attorney general of Montaza Prosecution issued a decision to release him after being detained for more than two years.

While implementing his release procedures, he disappeared from Montaza Second Police Station. He was unlawfully detained for 29 days in an unknown place for his family until he appeared before the Prosecution pending the current case.

And on April 21, 2020, security forces stormed Kholoud’s house, and she was subjected to enforced disappearance, investigated, and detained pending Case No. 558 of 2020 before she was released on December 13, 2020. She was listed in the current case after less than a month.

14 September 2021

Tuesday, September 14, The Council Chamber of the Criminal Court decided to adjourn the hearing of renewing the detention of “Ayman Mahmoud Abdel-Halim” and “Kholoud Saied Amer” pending Case No. 1017 of 2020, to October 4.

The court’s decision came due to the inability to transfer the defendants from their prison cells to attend the renewal hearing. It’s unpermissible to hold a session to renew the detention without the defendant’s presence. According to Article 136 of the Code of Criminal Procedure No. 150 of 1950, as amended by Law 145 of 2006.

The security forces arrested “Kholoud” on April 21, 2020, from her house in Alexandria, to appear before the Supreme State Security Prosecution after illegally disappearing for seven days, and decided to list her in case No. 558 of 2020.

Eight months later, she was released. Less than a month later, the Prosecution decided to detain her again, pending the current case with the exact old charges of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.

17 August 2021 

The Council Chamber of the Criminal Court considered the detention order of “Kholoud Saied Mohamed Ibrahim Amer”, and ordered to renew her detention for 45 extra days, this came pending Case No. 1017 of 2020 Supreme State Security, The mentioned court considered the order to renew the defendant’s detention on August 17, 2021, in the presence of AFTE’s lawyer.

The security forces arrested “Kholoud” on April 21, 2020, from her home in Alexandria, to appear before the Supreme State Security Prosecution after illegally disappeared for 7 days, and decided to include her in case No. 558 of 2020, and she was released after 8 months, less than a month later, the Prosecution decided to detain her again pending the current case with the same old charges of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.

6 July 2021

The Council Chamber of the Criminal Court had decided in Tuesday’s session July 6, 2021, held at Institute of Police Secretaries to renew the detention of both “Ayman Mahmoud Abdel-Halim” and “Kholoud Saied Amer” for 45 Days Pending Case No.1017 of 2020 Supreme State Security, on charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, using an account on social media to spread the false news.

It should be noted that “Ayman Mahmoud” was detained pending Case No. 12587 of 2018 Second Montaza administrative, and on December 12, 2020, a decision to release him was issued by the attorney general of Montaza prosecution office, after being held in pretrial detention for more than two years, which is the maximum period of pretrial detention according to the law.

And During the implementation of his release procedures, he disappeared from Montaza 2 police station on December 17, 2020, and he was detained unlawfully and in an unknown place to his family for about 29 days, till he was recycled in the current case.
30 May 2021

The council chamber of the criminal court, had decided on May 30, 2021 session to renew the detention of both “Ayman Mahmoud Abdel-Halim” and “Kholoud Saied Amer” for 45 Days Pending Investigations, into case No.1017 of 2020, on charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news by using a social media account.

It should be noted that “Ayman Mahmoud Abdel-Halim” was detained pending case No. 12587 of 2018 Montaza 2 administrator, and on December 12, 2020, a decision to release him was issued by the attorney general of Montaza prosecution office, after being kept in pretrial detention for more than two years, which is the maximum period of pretrial detention according to the law.

on December 17, 2020, during the implementation of his release procedures, he disappeared from Montaza 2 police station, and was detained unlawfully and in a place unknown to his family for about 29 days, till he was recycled in the current case.
