On 1 May 2024, a security force stopped journalist Ramadan Guwaida Shehata on his way home in Ashmoun, Menoufia Governorate. They asked him for his name and then arrested him. Shehata disappeared for 40 days, before appearing on 10 June 2024 before the Supreme State Security Prosecution in the Fifth Settlement.
